Let's say there's a tournament with 16 mechs on the board, with a 4-hour time limit. Assuming all the Mechs are adjusted to similar BV, what's a good scoring system to determine a winner? Using just kills is not viable because it encourages sniping, as opposed to engaging and fighting.

Also, this system has to be very quick to determine round-by-round scores/leaders (remember, it's a 4-hour limit), and it would be best if the players have to do very little of the paperwork involved (although having players do it isn't a deal breaker).

I still think the scoring I used for my Play-By-Web games is viable.

I have seen people use the forced withdrawal crippling damage as a method.

But that doesn't generate a score. I'm looking for something that generates an actual score that can be quickly and easily tracked.
