								| It wouldn't do having a barkeeper anyone would consider...."cheap". Would it now?
I just hope I never actually have to *pay* for what's on my tab....

								| Whoa, now for visit 1234...
I guess there have always been cycles of me being present on these boards, and then others.

To be fair, my heyday of spamming Mordel's into oblivion were from 1999 to 2002....

Mordel, were those messages all truly deleted? Is there no way to salvage any of that?

Lots of old-timers said everything they had to say back then and left afterwards. I hang out on CBT a lot these days, but it's all technical talk and very little sense of community. Not a substitute for Mordel's at all.

If just more people frequented this wonderful place more often/regularly...

								| That was me as well....
 But maybe more like 1994 - 2002...

Yes, all those messages are all gone. Not much I could do with the stuff that was on the original forums written in Perl. I make it a point now to try and save (if possible) all the old posts. Hence the reason everything was saved on the last site change.

								| I feel old too... I'm at visit 1359 (with not nearly that many posts), and have been around since those very old days of way back when. I remember when there were a good number of us who all had webpages for our units, and we spent more of our time fighting monkeys and falling in pits, or fighting the grey meat from the kitchen than actually talking BTech. I kinda miss those days.
I haven't played the game in a few years, and probably won't dust off the old minis again... but I play the old Mechwarrior / Mechcommander games every once in a while to dip my feet back in the Inner Sphere every once in a while... Plus, there's always the collection of novels which I break down and read when the mood hits.

But, for all of that, I still like to pop by and at least listen to what the new guys talk about while sipping a beer or ten at chihawks counter. And, so with that, I raise my glass (which will need a refill soon, thanks), and say "Here's to Mordel! Giving us a home away from home for more time than most of us really care to, or are able to, remember!"

I'm only at 912 visits, but hibernating for a few years will do that.

I was gonna make a comment, but then realized I had 7228 visits and figured I'd better keep my mouth shut!

								| Yeah... that sounds impressive and all, but, you have to be here... you're like the gum that keeps that Dutch chick from getting all wet when she put her finger in the dyke... _________________
