Here's what I'm looking for...any heavy/assault missile boat up to 3078 that no one in their right mind would take as part of a 2v2 mech duel. XL engines are OK, but not required. Custom is OK, provided it's not overly silly.
And, yes, there is a specific reason I'm asking, and as long as it meets what I'm looking for, there are no wrong answers.

I wouldn't exactly call it 'bad' but the humble CRS-6B 'Crossbow' could be what you're looking for as it feels like an LRM boat that's trying to compensate for everything. Decent but not great speed. Decent but not great backup weapons. Two LRM10s provide somewhat inconsistent missile damage.
The PPC is fortunately a good backup but the fact it has only 10 single heat-sinks makes the 'mech a nightmare to manage and outright unable to ever use its full arsenal, leaving it with anemic results.
Alternatively, I feel obligated to recommend my own design; a tripod 'mech that was meant to be used with a C3 network and full lance. The PNP-7C3M 'Panopticon' is a C3 Master command and support 'mech. It's tripod nature makes up for the somewhat lower speed but beyond that, it is not something anyone should be deploying in a 2v2. That thing was made specifically with a full lance in mind.

The Crossbow could be interesting. I'm guessing he'll avoid the Tripod as it introduces rules most people won't know and you'll have to likely learn yourself. Yes, I know it isn't a lot nor hard, but it's still more to deal with.

The PPC might make it too viable a mech for what we're using it for...plus 2 LRMs doesn't really say "missile boat" to me.

You can use my Big Bad Dom 90t missile boat 4lrm 20s a C3 slave and xl engines.
Otherwise there is Frish and Vortex with 4lrm 15s or 4lrm10s at 70t.
