As a modification of ON1-K it's bad. The design lost armor which it desperately needs to get to range to use it's firepower (and survive) and gained second SRM launcher which overheats it. Something must be done with it. Average at best, it's good that it never reached the production. |

To reduce the perfect armor only to incorporate another SRM-4 and another ton of ammo isn´t a very good idea!
The company was right not to mass-produce this! |

I don't like this variant either. Yes, it has the least armour of the Orions, which is their strength (though it is still equal to the Marauder).
However, and that is why I am giving this design such a bad mark, it is actually not an active design. In the fluff it clearly states that the Orion VA is the production variant, with the V being its prototype, an attempt to increase the Orion's close-range fire-power.
If the factory did not deem this design worthy of use, why should we? |

Not a great heavy mech. Its below average for its weight class.
I'd rather take the K and keep the armour. I also don't see the point of 2 tons of SRM 4 ammo in this design. If you really want that much firepower dump a ton of SRM 4 ammo for a HS.
Still lots of better choices for a heavy mech. So pick somethign else. |

Here I find myself agreeing with about everyone else. Stripping armor for more weapons, AND not adding more HS to support those new weapons, is a very bad choice. The -K was a good solid design, and this just makes a variant that should be scrapped, permanently! |
