The twin gauss rifles of this design give it great firepower and range while the pulse lasers will support the mainguns up close. But what are these two additional DHS´s for? The MG´s aren´t very useful too but i like them here: They can give infantry sneaking behind you a deadly surprise. As a sniper it devotes too much tonnage to shortrange weaponry (drop the pulses and MG´s for two large ER lasers) but as a combat mech it has too little armor. Fix that with an ES instead of the FF, drop a DHS for two CASE and put all ammo out of the CT. Or if you want to upgrade an existing Cerberus with out ripping out the chassis drop those MG´s, the AMS and two DHS for 5 additional tons of armor.

What the hell are they thinking ? 11 tons of FF armor isn't going to make this baby work unfortunalately.
It has the guns, but when you notice that a single AC-20 shot can rip an arm off, you will start to ponder why you spent 25 mil on this thing. |

I have to agree with most of the other comments here. Decent but underarmored, I have a design waiting to be approved that fixes this. But the MG are really a waste. they should be lost for armor. And I am sorry. But the IS pulse are nothing more than garbage, replace them with 4 medium lasers and increase the AMS ammo and add the rest to Armor. |

This has a few advantages over the other multiple gauss assaults: speed and backup weaponry. This is acutually meant to use the gauss rifles at short range in conjunction with the med. pulses- resulting in almost guaranteed hits, lots of damage, and no heat buildup. At close range, a gauss does almost as much damage as an AC-20, but is much more accurate and easier on the heat scale. Obviously it will lose a sniping duel with a Thunderhawk, but at close range the Cerberus really shines. |

The usual double guass config. Doesnt really add alot to the genre, but can provide an extra suprise for enemies. The Cerberus is rarely seen and used in the right situation (a tight sniper spot) it can deal untold damage.
Use the pulses to rip open any little mech which thinks its got the advantage by running under your gauss range! |
