This somehow resembles someone's personal ride. Strong backup weapons with superior accuracy. Easy heat management within range brackets, jump jets, inferno delivery system... not true you say? Well, just remember that the design is pretty old and was constructed under different rules. To keep this feature simply downgrade to standard SRMs and beef up the armour. The XL engine hurts, but I have to agree, that it's not wasted at least. |

JJ´s , DHS´s and heavy armor combined with 2 ER-PPC´s and good shortrange firepower: What more do you want?
Ok: The XL does hurt but you need the tonnage which isn´t wasted here.
The Streak looks somewhat strange though as you can put in 3 more DHS instead ( or maybe a 3rd medium pulse.) to get rid of that dangerous ammo. |

I prefer the MAD-5S, but this is a great ride too. It still has a lotta firepower, and the LPL is a big improvement on the old AC/5. The SSRM-2 is a horrible waste though. I would have used Endo-Steel and an SSRM-4 or something... Yes a lot more expensive, but far more useful. |

A little toss up. I wager to kill the Streak since it takes 50 turns just to empty them and you don't fire all the time. CASE or not, this MAD is still wearing an XL engine, an ammo blow out will certainly cull it regardless.
Dropping streaks for more DHS and another half ton more armor should make the mech more surivable. ERPPCs have no mins and having the heat cap to fire it with the medium pulses is certainly a nice thought up close.
The JJs are an excellent touch though. |

Davion has great mechs in 3025. But by 3050 everything has fancy XL engines and the upgrades are blah. Much less useful. Makes me wonder how they continue to win wars.
Adding armour and jets in exchange for an XL is a dangerous trade. I can see it being more useful if you have the purse strings to use it.
Keep it at range use your LPL and an ER PPC to keep your opponent worried. CLose when your sure of the kill. |
