This is a nice and solid QKD variant.
It still has not that much armor but carries a standard engine and CASE. The speed and the jump-jets are needed to bring its short to medium-range weapons to bear and make it a good city-fighter too.
The heat sinks are a special problem:
Reckord Sheets: Upgrades show single heat sinks but also show the Battle Value of the QKD-8K as 1,375 that would be right if carrying double heat sinks.

Crippled by single heat sinks. The ER lasers and MRM's should compliment each other, but can't really be used together. ER lasers are a very bad choice with single heat sinks. There's just too much heat bundled in weapons with similar range-brackets.
The speed, high for 3025, is no more than average for 3060. The armor is low for an infighter (its only role now that it has lost the LRM's). MRM's aren't very accurate and force the firer into AC-20 range to have any hope of hitting.
Poor armor, low range, and terrible heat dissipation. I'd almost prefer the QKD-4G. |

Awesome city fighter. The MRM 30, although inaccurate will blast holes in the enemy.
More armor will be a nice touch and the only disadvantage will be the amount of collateral damage this thing will create ! Missed MRMs will always go somewhere ! Of course that 's the pilot's problem to explain ! |

Dump the two ER Smalls for another ton of armour and you have the perfect 5.0 for a city fighter. If you've any luck with the MRM systems this is the mech to cultivate for your forces.
I like it because for 3060 its one of the more survivable designs because its one of the few stubborn that refuse to put an XL in it. Although they could have done with Doubles and some more ammo/lasers. |
