It seems that this 'Mech is highly specialized machine. If you need to give some heavy firepower to your medium lance or you need some mobile PPC boat than this is your 'Mech. Otherwise you should look somewhere else.

A firesupport variant of the -4D with dangerous longrange-firepower.
You have to use your speed to prevent enemies from coming too close. For the best effect stay behind your front-machines and support them as they need it.
While moving you´ll build up heat over a couple of rounds even if you alternate fire (2-1-2) so keep a close eye on the scale!

Its an above average design... In 3025 the ultimate design has PPCs and this has two of them.
Balancing your PPC fire means that you'll fire 3 every 2 rounds which is an okay cycle to maintain to unless your seriously desperate to be running lots.
I like using this design as part of a picket unit, since it'll cream most scout mechs.

The pilot needs to cycle the PPCs, obviously, but the combination of heavy firepower, good speed, and good armor makes this a very effective variant. The high movement means you can build up some heat in an emergency and still remain fairly mobile. Still, it is probably best to deploy this one with some mediums with close range firepower in order to deal with anyone who gets in under the radar, and stay away from any area you suspect may be concealing hidden units. Keep these liabilities in mind, and you have a fine fire support machine for any medium lance which will, due to its good speed, be able to give most heavies a run for their money.
