Overview:
    Conceived as a mech which could support the popular Locust scout mech the Sprinter was
    intended to be a cheap mech able to tackle with other light mechs and vehicles without
    needing to rely on costly disposable munitions.
    
    Upon testing one of the pilots noted that it would have the ?lifespan of a Mayfly? and the
    name stuck, much to the annoyance of the design team.
    
    Never a particularly popular design it struggled to carve out a niche of its own and had a
    relatively short original production run. Ultimately many of the mechs were sold at
    knockdown prices to periphery powers and from there many filtered into lesser known
    mercenary companies who couldn?t be picky in their choice of mechs.
    
    The act of selling it into the periphery lead to a surprising number surviving the
    succession wars as their owners dodged much of the more intense inter house conflicts raging
    across the inner sphere.

Variants:
    A multitude of variants exist as a result of resource shortages. Thankfully the primitive
    nature of the design allowed for easy maintenance and modifications.
