    The 18k is a simple update rather than a true mod or upgrade.

    Near max armor, a 50% increase in jumping capacity, and an improved heat curve serves to
    support the 18K's single weapon, a deadly Heavy PPC.
    The 18K has proven popular with its users but many detractors worry about the mechs reliance
    on a single weapon. This has led to both a positive and negative effect on the field.
    Because the 18K is easier to incapacitate, the pilots tend to retreat more often resulting
    in a lower fatality rate. This is led to some pushback due to the Kuritan view of honor.

    The PNT-18K deployment has been a win-win for many units. Command dislikes the design so has
    relegated them to disloyal units who appreciates them like the Ghost Regiments.
