Comment:
The original version of the Cavalier, the CVL-45A, makes our commanders stroke their beards (existant or not) and nod their heads going, "Thats a decent tank." The 45L makes them stop, give it the side eye, and be uncomfortable. The loss of armor in favor of a heavier LRM throw weight puts this tank into an area on the Armor, Mobility, Firepower triangle that tends to be avoided by IPD design and doctrine. Its not quite fast enough to avoid enough firepower, and the armor is too light to risk planting in place for enhanced accuracy. They know there are use cases for such a design, but the expectation is still early losses if it was fielded.
