    One of the more insane of First Lord Richard Cameron's ideas, the Avalanche has long been
    something of a passion project for the Mad Genius of Terra. While most (sensible)
    Mechwarriors see the Avalanche as a death sentence on legs, it is nevertheless incredibly
    effective as a point-defense system in urban combat and aggresive sieges.
    The Avalanche AVL-4T is one of the more sensible Avalanche alternate variants. The -4T is
    the 'sniper' of the Avalanche family, build for long-range fire support.

    The -4T embodies the philosphy of 'reach out and touch someone'. Two gauss rifles and an
    Artemis-V LRM-15, each with two tons of ammunition is perfectly able to staunch the assault
    of any daring lance. Any that closes in to the -4T must brave a gauntlet of four ER medium
    lasers and a Streak SRM-6, all placed on the torso. All direct-fire weapons are helped by a
    targeting computer to ease 'headcapping'. An Angel ECM helps protect the -4T against missile
    barrages and opposing targeting computer-assited long-range direct fire.
