    The Iron Rain was developed when rumors of an impending attack reached the ears of CEO Mark
    Stonkin as a result of the successful recovery of the ArcAngel prototype LAM. While the
    Ground Zero factilities had plenty security forces on hand, as well as a contingent of mechs
    from Stonkin Mechs, Inc on rotation, there was not a lot in the way of long range support
    and artillery. Some static artillery and defences were purchased and put into place, but
    Stonkin still wanted something a bit more mobile.

    The 55 ton Iron Rain is basically a very mobile artillery platform. It mounts an ArrowIV
    Artillery missle system across its right torso and arm. The mechs main weapon is backed up
    with a large laser and two medium laser to help it deal with enemies that break through the
    defensive line. A Guardian ECM helps to ensure that the mech is difficult to find should
    others come looking for it. While the machine is powered by an XL engine, CASE surrounds the
    three tons of ARROW ammunition to ensure the suvival of the pilot in the case of an
    ammunition explosion. While it was pointed out to Mark that cheaper and more available
    units, mechs and vehicles both, are available for the role, he wanted nothing to do with
    them and insisted on a unique Ground Zero design for the job. Many on staff account his
    anathema to outside mech designs and firms to his maternal Taurian ancestry, and the general
    distrust to outside influences accorded to the Concordant.

    A full company of the Iron Rain mech has been deployed on the GZT facilities and surrounding
    area. Mark Stonkin has ensured the pilots have been well versed in the use of their mechs
    and the ARROW IV weapon system.

    There are no variants at this time, though designers are working to create a jump capable
    model in the near future.
