    Designed to work in tandem with other units, the CN9-Dx was deemed an upgrade over the old
    CN9-A Model.  Added mobility, added range, and added survivability were all plusses.  The
    mech was not without teething issues.  At no point previously had a major run of Centurion
    been designed at the outset for jumping capability.  Most of the mech's leg actuator
    packages had to be significantly redesigned before manufacture.  These delays meant that
    relatively few Mechs were built prior to the truce of Tukayyid.

    Weight savings from a new endo steel chassis and sacrificing some of the the punch of its
    antiquated Luxor D autocannon, allows this design to mount a Doombud 15 LRM Launcher, an
    additional ton of armor, and gain the mobility of 120 meters of jumping distance.
    Of course swapping out the temperamental Luxor D for and even more temperamental Imperator 5
    Ultra autocannon won them no favors with field techs.

    maintaining the tried and true role of guarding lighter missile boats, the Centurion Dx
    fulfilled its role adequately.  Still deemed a half measure, the greatest upgrade to the
    unit over standard designs was the inclusion of 120 meters of jumping distance, making it
    much more viable in its role.
