    Created as part of the same thought experiment that created the Quickdraw QKD-9Qx and
    variants, the "Stately Dragon" as it became known as is the brain child of one specific
    'Mech engineer that commonly goes by the moniker of "One Arm".
    It came to be from the idea of ripping out the jump jets of the Quickdraw to allow it far
    more tonnage but that was quickly rejected to try and keep the spirit of the original mech
    design in mind. But, the idea did have merit in a Dragon refit and was kept around to try it
    out on another limited production and refit run of the much beloved chassis.

    To keep things simple, it was decided that only endo-steel and ferro-fibrous armor for the
    weight saving measures, to allow the 'Mech to still be cheap enough to be considered for
    purchase en masse.
    Furthermore, for its primary armament, it was decided that for its Right Arm mounted weapon
    an ER Large Laser was perfect for its assigned duties of both a Heavy chassis scout and
    general Line Brawler. Furthermore, for a missile weapon an MML-9 mounted in the Left Torso,
    with two tons of ammo protected by CASE would be perfect to allow the mech nominal striking
    power at range while getting deadlier the closer it got.
    For further close range punch, it was decided that four medium lasers were perfect for the
    job. Three forward facing, two in the Center Torso and one in the Right Torso, with the
    forth facing rearwards mounted in the Right Torso as the 'Mech's main purpose was to wade
    in, where the occasional enemy combatant would find its way in its rear arc. However should
    this prove unpopular, it was decided to make it an easy job to simply mount the rear facing
    laser to face forward, with a mount spot easily available.
