One of the best variants to grace the TRO: Phoenix, this bugger has both mobility and staying power while kicking up some hurt.
A quick mod would be dropping those Er Mediums for regular mediums so you can use the med lasers together with the ERPPC during those nasty knife fights. Sure you will overheat a little still but it hardly matters in the hands of a good pilot.
Maximum armor, Light engine and CASE. Even if the ammo goes boom, you can still at least try to scramble a retreat rather than lying dead in a ditch over there like the CS variant. |

While being a near clone to the -6CS this variant has some good features.
The light engine and full armor will let it survive longer.
The reduction of heat sinks will hurt it much though! |

This is a nice upgrade; strong firepower and excellent armor. It can cool or it can run hot depending on what you need to kill, and how fast you need to kill it.
Overall, very impressive. |

CHrist, put a lance of these on a hilltop and play sniper with em. The ER PPC-LRM one-two punch will kill light and medium mechs in one salvo, and even heavy and assult mechs are going to feel abused after a few turns.
And if youve got four of these mothers targeting the same guy, hes going to get cut to pieces in short order.
The mech is only average in the armor department, though, and one or two solid hits are going to open up something. The old practice of 'clearing datum' after you shoot is going to be your best friend in this mech. Run to a good spot, cut loose, then bug out before someone can launch too much heavy ordinance your way. |
