This is a poor mans Warhammer. Twin PPC mechs are not all that common but this one pulls it of in great fashion. Even jumping with the PPC's both firing it won't over heat to terrible levels. I would dump the ammo first chance I get though. But minor quibble. Great mech. Maybe not quite this high of a rating normally but I don't think the boost is completely undeserved. |

I don't know how can this 'Mech still be called Catapult, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a dangerous 'Mech. Backup weapons are below average and the loss of JJs doesn't belong to things that I like, but the ability to fire two PPCs nonstop and good armor give it an edge over many 'Mechs in this category and make it to a powerful addition to any medium or heavy lance. I'm not happy about the MG ammo location in CT where it can be detonated by random critical hit early in the combat or high heat if the pilot isn't careful. I would rather install additional armor and less ammo. A powerful 'Mech, but don't forget about heat management, even with all those heat sinks. |

This very "un-catapult-like" Catapult is astonishingly cool-running for a 2 PPC wielding Mech.
Shortrang capability isn´t that bad and armor isn´t too.
Good linemech. |

I have no idea why the rest frown upon the mech so i will have to give it a slightly better rating than normal.
At 65 tons, its more efficient than the MAD-3R in using dual PPCs or the WHM-6R while still having only half ton less armor of the MAD-3R and 1 ton more than the WHM-6R.
Sure the backup weapons are abit of a joke but it isnt that bad. Swapping the MGs for another pair of medium lasers or 1 med laser plus a ton of heatsink / armor is gold on this thing.

Drop the Machine guns and ammo and I'd pick up the 2 heat sinks this mech needs to run and gun with those PPCs.
One of the most scary mechs because you expect missiles not a pair of lightning death fired.
I'd put this in a front line unit since its got the firepower to hammer opposing units quite nicely. Plus the heat curve isn't too dangerous. |
