"Optimize this mech till the doctor comes!"
The -QD1 uses high tech for almost every piece of equipment.
Survivability isn't good on this one: XL engine, no CASE, relatively slow.
The LRM will deliver a solid punch at a long range and is the cause for all that high tech squeezed in. An ER medium laser is a good choice too but weak as the only self defense weapon.
The TC is wasted here: Better put another ER laser in to boost your short range firepower (even then you can alpha-strike in a full jump with no heat). Or try a 180 fusion and another jump jet. |

Not a bad upgrade. It sacrifices durability (XL) for increased accuracy (Artemis/Targeting Com), damage (LRM 15), range (ER), and even has more ammo than the original. The DHS allows for constant Alpha Strikes. Wouldn't buy one but would love to salvage/capture one. |

Dropping that TC for another ER medium laser will help out immensely if someone just rushes the Valkyrie. For its era, a single ER medium laser isn't even going to scare off light mechs. |

The Valkyrie was designed as a scout hunter. I think that the weapon combo is efficient at reaching out to tag a scout mech that it can't keep up with to persuade it to scout elsewhere. |

I like this mech, but I cant help but wonder if the one ton used for the TC could be better used someplace else. A heavier engine, more armor, more ammo, or another gun. As is, this think can move quite alot, and still be fairly accurate with its weapons. Toss it in to a city battle unit, or as a fire support mech for a light lance and you should see some nice results. |
