Overview:
The Toyama, like the Buccaneer and the Grand Crusader, was designed and built for the Word
of Blake following their exodus to Gibson. Unlike many other new Word of Blake 'Mechs, the
Toyama was designed by an outsider - Dr. Thaddeus Anable, a military technology consultant
with the Free Worlds League's Heliopolis design labs. As part of an arrangement with
Captain-General Thomas Marik, Anable passed the design to the Word of Blake, who put it into
production in early 3057.
Capabilities:
Designed as a multi-purpose 'Mech, the Toyama can engage in extended operations without
resupply. Its main weapons are a pair of Diverse Optics Sunbeam extended-range large lasers
mounted in the right arm. A Doombud LRM-20 in the torso and an Imperator Code Red autocannon
in the left arm provide additional firepower in short engagements. With storage capacity for
two full tons of autocannon ammunition, the Toyama can carry a mix of rounds, allowing the
pilot to tailor the 'Mech's loadout to his own preference or mission requirements. A cluster
of lasers in the 'Mech's torso provides additional firepower, though their effective range
is less than 300 meters and their tracking capabilities are limited.
The Toyama also carries a state-of-the-art defense measure in the right torso: the
Guardian ECM system, which limits the effectiveness of advanced targeting and tracking
systems used in close proximity to the 'Mech. The original design called for an anti-missile
system to be installed alongside the ECM system, but space considerations ultimately caused
the designers to omit the anti-missile system in favor of a larger LRM launcher.
Deployment:
To date, the Toyama has been deployed only with the Word of Blake Militia. Plans to ship
several to the Atrean Dragoons were postponed when the Word of Blake launched Operation
Odysseus, in which Blake Militia troops masquerading as the mercenary 21st Centauri Lancers
infiltrated and sabotaged ComStar's defenses on Terra. During that operation, the Blakist
forces used at least four Toyamas.

A fair decent WoB support mech with a nice weapon load out. While it looks like a Jack of all trades, most of its primary guns kick in best at 12 to 15 hexes, making it one hell of a medium range fighter (big lasers, missiles and even a LB-10 !) although they are fairly workable at 18 hexes which is still med range. This is good if you let the enemy come towards you.
The armor isn't much to scream about and that is the only real flaw. Heat isn't too much of an issue, you can fire all the big ones while stationary and still remain in the 4 heat sweet spot. A good tactic would be letting another heavy to keep the enemy on their toes while the Toyoma goes in for the best range brackets before letting loose.

A good multi purpose Mech with a strong punch at almost any range.
The armor protection isn't phenomenal but still acceptable and it needs fire discipline to keep the heat down.
All in all a Mech that will do its job fine!

Like an Orion without the SRMs. With the ER lasers and LRM this will do well as fire support. The AC helps at longer ranges too, and it has enough ammo for ranged and close in work. Whatever you do, keep this thing away from the enemy. That armor is acceptable for a lighter heavy, but too light for a 'Mech of this size.

A good Comstar design, it proved to be the most adaptable mech in the Fall Of Terra scenario book. It would work well in large groups where it would make a good 'GI' mech, capable of every role, but not a master at any.

A mech of all trades, here. With no real apparent holes in the design. Big LRM rack, with lots of ammo. LBX, again with lots of ammo. Good laser array, with lots of DHS to take care of the heat. Solid armor, with ECM to protect the whole thing from smart weapons. Its not fast, but then it doesnt have to be. All in all, a good solid all around mech. Love or hate the WoB, you have to admit, they did a pretty damn good job with this one.
