Not a good variant of the Archer in my eyes. Now it can fire both LRM´s at full speed with no heatbuildup but it payed with two tons of armor and the inability to fire it´s lasers at once without severe heat. |

Good amount of firepower, since you can use the LRM-15s while on the move. Better ammo supply than the standard Archer as well. The large lasers make decent back up weapons due to range, but have the unfortunate problem of being rather hard on the heat sinks.
Armor has been lightened a little, but the extra abilities offset it a bit. An average fire support design that focuses the big guns. Ironic that it is not popular in the Lyran Commonwealth. |

Yes, this must be the mother of Mad Dog and Timber Wolf. LLs and LRMs give it long range punch that is hard to match for 3025 'Mechs, but without SL technology it cannot handle the heat. It can still pour the LRMs in combat while moving and LLs can keep most lights at arm's length, or cause heavy damage to anything else, but this all was gained in exchange for armor. Eleven tons is still a lot, but in isn't the old full plate.
This machine has something to finish off the target once the LRMs are gone, but you need to watch your heat carefully, that's all you need to know. |

Those big lasers and decent missile racks give the mech a greater punch than most would expect.
Only other mechs that have this similar concept is the Clan Mad Dog and Timberwolf.
Pity not many IS missile boats are designed like this. |

This is just simply one of the better Archer variants. While the missile packs are smaller and the armour a tad bit lighter, its still competes with the warhammer and the twin large lasers give a nice additional punch.
The 2K also has better endurance then the standard Archer. With more reloads for its smaller racks (technically.. it all adds up... the same..).
A good Mech that can serve in fire support and line roles |
