Overview:
    Beyond just the hypothetical is the practical.  While the MIRV has a higher throw weight in
    terms of theoretical firepower, the iMIRV has something even more useful.  Its actually
    usable.

Capabilities:
    The MIRV line of LAMs are intended for deep space high speed engagements where their own
    velocity is a greater component to their damage potential then just the weapons they carry.
    While the case study designed MIRV focused on maximizing the number of missiles it could
    salvo, the iMIRV focuses on getting that damage on target.
    
    The first major upgrade is the use of Smart Robotic Systems.  Removing the pilot has
    multiple advantages.  G force limits on the carrier are removed, Long range strikes with a
    major coast component are feasible, the fear of dying no longer a factor when you realize
    that you are the kinetic kill vehicle.
    
    The next upgrade is a higher thrust rating allowing combat tracking of all but the fastest
    targets.  In addition to the higher thrust additional fuel tanks allows a longer engagement
    window, mostly insuring the carrier has more time to disengage.
    
    The final upgrade is the use of AES for better target acquisition.  A high speed pass is
    already a tough targeting environment and you only get one shot.  Making that shot count
    improves success greater then just a larger payload.

Deployment:
    The iMIRV is currently in competition with More traditional KKV aerospace fighters.  The
    iMIRV's greater mass and weapons payload makes it superior to a KKV in terms of damage
    potential, but at almost 3 times the cost, KKVs make a compelling argument for cost
    effective system defense.
