Better than the -3R (but without the cult bonus:) but still relativly light armored the Liao variant has good firepower with better heatcontrol and less problems with min-range.
This is a Liao example of beginning to modify but stopping before getting a real result. |

Eh, not my favorite variant. I'm kind of put out by the removal of the duel PPC's. Maybe I'm a simple man and like nice and easy modifiers :P.
In battle it performs okay. The slightly lower heat is really its main bonus. But I often found myself wishing for the extra 2 damage. |

The Liao Marauder partially solves the heat management problems of the 3R, but it had to pay with main weapon range for it. The 3L can stay on the move while firing, but that's a little strange with Liao machine, because the CC was usually holding ground. The explanation may be that while the other Liao units (lighter 'Mechs and conventional armor supported by infantry) hold the enemy back and the Marauders relocate to bring heavy guns to any hot spots. This may be one of the better Capellan 'Mechs. |

Hahahaha! This is such a Liao thing to do. A half-a-modification!!! (It states in the fluff, that the targeting system has problems with this variant!)
No, I don't like this variant better than the original. I prefer the -3R to any other variants, because there is something it really is better in than any other 'mech. But: It is a better front-line fighter and it is, well, LIAO! |

One of the better variants and the saving grace of house liao. This mech will beat out most of the other Marauders because it has the heat sinks to fire its weapons without killing itself horrendously on the heat scale.
Still avoid the alpha strikes because you have an ammo weapon and you should do fine. |
