Sure it has a load of guns but by then you are running so hot that you can hardly fire them.
The only ranged weapon is an LRM-15. Rest of the weapons are range 10 or less and you do not have the DHS to fire all of them for a crippling blow lest you wanna blow up 5 tons of ammo.
Also costing at 29 mil C-Bills, i expect something better. |

With all that pulse lasers and SRM´s the Grand Titan is a formidable short range fighter but if you take a look at the heatsinks you´ll see that it can´t use much of it at a time.
Its speed and heavy armor serves it well in those fights though.
The LRM-15 Artemis is a good long range weapon but not quite what you expect from a 100-tonner (No real "punch" like an ER-PPC or gauss rifle).
I would drop the LRM and small pulse lasers for an ER-PPC and 5 additional DHS´s! |

this thing is suppose to beat an Atlas? it has an xl engine that takes up a quarter of its weight, and it doesn't have enough heats sinks to fire enough weapons to do much damage. it has one ranged weapon which means it has to close fast. all in all not the kinda 100 tonner i would want in my unit. |

The 400 rated engine, even in the XL version, is probably the worst thing any mech can mount. They are just too heavy to justify the slight increase in mobility. A 300 _standard_ with three jump jets weighs less and gives comparable manueverbility. Oh, and it's a LOT cheaper,
At long range this mech has exactly one weapon: a LRM-15 with Artemis. It has to close to within 10 hexes to get within range of _any_ of its other weapons. At short range this mech starts overheating immediately- not good for a CASE-less, XL-engined mech that has 5 tons of ammo spread throught its torso. It doesn't have the speed to escape and cool down, nor the firepower to destroy an opposing mech in one salvo.
As for the rear weaponry: there is no good reason to mount two small pulse lasers. Ever.
All in all, I would expect far more from a 100-tonner loaded with new technology. |

This Mech has 2 major selling points: It looks awesome (drawing at least, the fig is a bit odd), and point cost. It can be fit into a 1500 BV point game.
That being said, in the 1500 point game, it was killed on 2 separate occasions by small lasers cooking off it's ammo. Case would go a long way to keeping this alive, as would heat sinks. |
