Overview:
    The Nightstar was always rare, not having entered full production before the Amaris Coup, so
    it was already an extremely uncommon sight before the Succession Wars began to take a toll
    on their remaining numbers. Ironically the 10J actually lead to their numbers increasing as
    older damaged machines that couldn't be repaired due to the lack of advanced technology now
    had the option of using a refit kit to restore the machine to working order. (Credit:

Capabilities:
    The 10J has had it's XL engine replaced with a standard, the Medium Pulse Lasers and ER PPC
    downgraded to standard models, and it's Gauss Rifles replaced by AC/10s for which it only
    carries four tons of ammunition split between the left and right torsos. It makes use of 17
    Single Heat Sinks to handle the mech's heat generated in combat.

Deployment:
    A very rare command mech even in the time of the Star League most of the surviving units
    found themselves making their way into the hands of house militaries where they would be
    parceled out as rewards to especially loyal and competent MechWarriors and would become
    highly prized family battlemechs with almost all the units surviving into the 3020s having
    become ancestral mechs for nobles across the Inner Sphere.
