Overview:
The Phoenix Hawk LAM was the largest Land-Air 'Mech produced during the Star League. Allied
Aerospace reworked their designs for conversion equipment and the size of the LAM, learning
from their mistake with the Shadow Hawk LAM and the success of the Stinger LAM. The
resulting LAM was the largest ever constructed capable of remaining in AirMech mode.
Unfortunately, large Land-Air 'Mech conversion technology was not fully researched before
the fall of the Star League, and the Phoenix Hawk LAM frequently met its end due to the
occasional glitch. The end of the Star League and the destruction of the Allied Aerospace
facilities at the beginning of the First Succession War prevented further development and
refinement. This tech has now been revived and is curently being researched by Strider
Arashi and Strider Akai for the fun of it.

Capabilities:
The basic configuration of the Phoenix Hawk LAM sports a:
HARTFORD S2000 Targeting Computer, With a
Hartford J25 A combined with a NOVA CEWS system,
The Right-Arm has a CLan-Tech Crystal Core Daybreak Particle Projection Cannon mounted on
    it.
The Left and Right Torso, respectively, have a Clan-Tech Crystal Core Sunlight Extended
Range Medium Lasers mounted in each of them.
And finally, a Clan Tech ExoStar Pinnacle ER Small Laser mounted in the Center Torso.

Deployment:
Mostly used as a Combination Striker/Scout/Sniper

Variants:
    PHX-HK1
Developed for the Star League Defense Force Royal Divisions in 2692, this variant of the
Phoenix Hawk LAM used four medium lasers and a single ER large laser as its main firepower.
12 double heat sinks kept the heat curve low, but the limited fuel, armor, and
maneuverability made the Phoenix Hawk LAM easy prey for aerospace fighters of the same
weight. It could maneuver fast enough to evade heavier foes however.[4] BV (2.0) = 1,942[5]
    PHX-HK1R
This version was created before the introduction of the PHX-HK2, in 2695. It removed the ER
large laser, a medium laser, and two single heat sinks, replacing them with an experimental
snub-nose PPC, Beagle active probe, and an additional half ton of armor.[4] BV (2.0) = ????
    PHX-HK1RB
This version was apparently created by the Word of Blake, as it removes the Beagle active
probe and a medium laser from the PHX-HK1R and replaces that equipment with an improved C3
computer. The snub-nose PPC remains and the two remaining medium lasers are upgraded to ER
    medium lasers. BV (2.0) = ????[6]
    PHX-HK2M
House Marik produced a variant of the Phoenix Hawk LAM which replaces the large laser and
machine guns with a Holly LRM-10.[7]
    Custom Configurations
    Evil Twin One
Modified by the Jade Falcon scientists at Falcon's Eyrie on Huntress, Evil Twin One was a
modification in effort to find a combat use for LAMs in Clan warfare. However the
modifications that were done cut corners to keep the LAM at it's original tonnage. While a
base model was not indicated, beyond it's original armament and equipment, it received an
addition large laser, extra SRM capacity, and was outfitted with a dual-cockpit allowing a
Mechwarrior and aerospace pilot to control their respective modes of the LAM. In it's only
battle, Stenis was the Mechwarrior, and Geoff was the aerospace pilot. Evil Twin One was
destroyed in battle after ramming its opponents to finish them off. [8]

Notable MechWarriors:
    Abrahim Ibn Faud

MechWarrior Abrahim Ibn Faud was a member of the Command Lance, 5th Recon Company, 8th Recon
Battalion, 151st Light Horse Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse as of 3025.

Ibn Faud was, with his LAM, a prominent member of the Eridani Light Horse. He was frequently
assigned to do both aerial recon for raids, and then to join the battle below with the
    primary forces.

As a devout Muslim, Ibn Faud accepted his rough treatment stoically, spending much time
studying the Koran. He was strict in his observance of his faith, following its teachings to
the letter, even stopping during battle to face Mecca. When not on Terra, he did this by
facing the sky, towards humanity's far off homeworld.

Ibn Faud was considered to be an able leader, who was brevetted to Lieutenant several times
to command important missions. Even while remaining a mere MechWarrior however, he was a
loyal member of the Light Horse, and a faithful servant of Allah.

Ibn Faud was known to pilot a Phoenix Hawk LAM named Moon Rising, and which was decorated
    with the Islamic star-and-crescent symbol.

    Albert Amdecker

Albert Amdecker was a Draconis Combine officer.

Amdecker was the only survivor of his air lance from the battle for Suk in 3017 and one of
the few to survive the assault on the world. After that action he was promoted to command
the Fourteenth Air Lance of the Seventh Sword of Light.

Albert Amdecker was known to pilot a PHX-HK1 Phoenix Hawk LAM that was badly damaged and
could not convert into fighter mode because of a damaged left arm actuator.

    Clay Moretti

Clay Moretti was a Draconis Combine officer.

Moretti would graduate from the Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy.

    Howard Doodlebury

Howard Doodlebury was an officer in the Eighth Syrtis Fusiliers officer.

Lieutenant Doodlebury commanded the Tigershark Aerospace Lance. He earned a reputation as
the most skilled LAM pilot alive after actions on Hoff, Royal, Harrow's Sun, and Breed. His
mastery was converting while under fire and making the most of each LAM mode.

    Jason Youngblood

Jason Youngblood was the son of Jeremiah Youngblood. As an 18-year-old MechWarrior cadet at
the Pacifica Training School, he recreated the Crescent Hawks and took command of the unit
to fend off a Draconis Combine attack on Chara III in 3028. Subsequently, he was promoted to
Lieutenant and given the unit as his own by Katrina Steiner. He led the unit at least up to
the Battle of Luthien in late 3051, where he led the defense, first of part of the front
line, later of the capital city itself. He flew over the battlefield several times, one
landing beside Takashi Kurita. The irony to be fighting beside Kuritans, his family's
traditional enemies, wasn't lost to him... but when Takashi respectfully bowed to him, Jason
was so impressed than he abandoned all his hate to the Kuritans, returned the gesture and
fought at his side. Jason, as a handful of Hawks, survived the battle, but his LAM didn't.
Once again in Arc-Royal, Morgan Kell gifted him a new 'Mech, and convinced him to remain, as
the Hawks, as part of the Hounds, but he, as the Hawks, were relieved of active duty and
placed in charge of training a new generation of MechWarriors on anti-Clan tactics. He asked
that to spend more time with his son.[2]

Jason Youngblood's son was named Jeremiah after his grandfather.

For most of his career Jason Youngblood piloted the Phoenix Hawk LAM he inherited from his
father, which he had found in a Star League cache. After it suffered crippling damage during
the Crescent Hawks' participation in the Battle of Luthien, he was unable to make repairs
and started piloting an ordinary but brand-new Phoenix Hawk instead, which Morgan Kell had
    given him.
He is also a notable Chameleon pilot.

    Jeremiah Youngblood

Jeremiah past remains a man swathed in a great deal of mystery. He does not appear on the
rolls of any academy, yet his skill was unparalleled. Anecdotal evidence suggests he knew
Katrina Steiner during her time in the Periphery, and that he joined the nascent Kell Hounds
    at her behest.[1]

Jeremiah Youngblood was a Phoenix Hawk LAM pilot who, in 3011, commanded the Long Range
Recon Patrol Lance (LRRP) of Third Company, Second Battalion of the Kell Hounds. This
notable lance consisted of his Phoenix Hawk LAM, two Stinger LAMs and a Wasp LAM.[2][3]

While a member of the Kell Hounds, Youngblood took part in the fighting on Mallory's World.
He left the unit when Morgan Kell reduced the Kell Hounds from a regiment to a single
battalion following the Phantom 'Mech incident on Mallory's World in 3016.

Afterwards, Jeremiah Youngblood became a member of the original Crescent Hawks ("Katrina
Steiner's personal lance") and commanded the small unit by 3028, although it is unknown when
he assumed this command or when the Crescent Hawks were created. It is also noted that,
    after leaving the Kell Hounds.

After the Hounds disbanded, Katrina brought Jeremiah to Tharkad to lead her personal
commando unit. Rumors scorched the tabloids, but no relationship between Jeremiah and the
Archon was ever confirmed or denied.

In 3017 Jeremiah was reassigned to the role of Captain of the Planetary Security Force of
the world Pacifica (Chara III). He spent most of his time from during this period looking
for a lost Star League cache bunker on the world while his son Jason Youngblood was enrolled
as a cadet at the Pacifica Training School.

En route to her daughter's wedding, Katrina Steiner paid a brief visit to Pacifica in 3028,
during her stay on the planet. Just at this time House Kurita staged a surprise attack
against Pacifica. Jeremiah Youngblood went missing when the Citadel was destroyed and was
    presumed dead.

His son Jason and Crescent Hawks member Rex Pearce subsequently formed a guerrilla force and
managed to thwart the Kurita invasion. Following hints left behind by Jeremiah, they found
and gained access to the long-lost Star League cache that Jeremiah had found just prior to
the invasion. His PHX-HK2 Phoenix Hawk LAM was parked within the bunker.

Jason and Rex already mused that Jeremiah Youngblood, being an ex–Kell Hounds member who
had fought against Kurita on Mallory's World, might have been taken captive as House Kurita
pursued a vendetta against the Kell Hounds ever since.

It later turned out that Jeremiah Youngblood had indeed been taken prisoner and was held
captive on the Kurita district capital of Dieron. Under the leadership of his son Jason and
with aid from the Kell Hounds and the Federated Suns, the Crescent Hawks staged "Operation
Liberty", an objective raid against the Dieron prison, in the middle of the Fourth
Succession War and freed the prisoners, including Jeremiah Youngblood.

At the successful conclusion of Operation Liberty and the return of the DropShip in June
3029, Katrina Steiner promoted Jason Youngblood to Captain and made him commander of the
Crescent Hawks. Nothing is said about the future of Jeremiah Youngblood, who had spent
    several months in Kurita captivity.

    After Dieron
The fight on Dieron broke something in Jeremiah. Nerve damage ensured he would never pilot a
BattleMech again, so he relinquished command of the Hawks to his son Jason Youngblood and
returned to Tharkad to serve as one of the Archon’s bodyguards.

Jeremiah died of a stroke in 3055.

    Leesa Dobbins

Leesa Dobbins was a Free Worlds League Military officer.

In 2938, the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces were making minor advances on Fletcher.
Leesa Dobbins was piloting her Phoenix Hawk LAM in aerospace mode and signaled that her
fighter was out of fuel and near the approaching CCAF DropShips. CCAF aerospace pilots took
her in tow and claimed the right of surrender, but Dobbins had fooled them all. She
converted to BattleMech mode and attacked the DropShip's engine. The CCAF tried to down her,
but they tore up more of the DropShip than the LAM. She was the first MechWarrior attributed
with taking out a DropShip singlehandedly.
