Capabilities:
The Tamaraw is ZMW's design for a dedicated APC. While its Cragstone Missile Tank can carry
infantry, the Tamaraw is expected to do the heavy soldier lifting for the ACDF, as each
"Tam" can carry a full platoon.
The basic version carries close-support weapons on its turret, with the three SR2s allowing
its gunner to track three individual targets at once. The Tamaraw also has a separate ammo
bin for a full ton of Inferno rounds. While dangerous to carry in a troop transport, having
the option to cook mechs, other vehicles, buildings, and infantry can spell the difference
between an advance or a retreat.
Like with most Zaraw designs, a coaxial machinegun is placed in the turret for added
anti-infantry capability.
The vehicle is adequately armored, able to take a single Class-20 autocannon hit on any side
and survive, allowing its precious cargo of infantry to safely exit and seek better cover.
Variants:
One variant of the Tamaraw sees the SR racks replaced with two LR5 racks taking from a ton
of ammo. This is used when the mechanized infantry company it carries expects to operate
alone and would benefit from the long-range fire support. Usually, such combat capability is
provided by the actual armor forces a Tamaraw is supporting, especially from Cragstone
Missile IFVs.
