Overview:
    Named after the Maori word for a fork-tipped fishing spear, the Matarau was designed to fill
    a strike cavalry role in Auriga's armies, whether the ACDF or militias.
    
    The design of the Matarau raised questions, given Zaraw Vehicle Works closely worked with
    Wild Hunt Commander Carlios Dan Cannar in designing the helicopter. The reason why
    eventually came out when the Wild Hunt made the second variant of the Matarau with the
    mercenary company's spare Gauss Rifles.

Capabilities:
    Although noted as a striker, the Matarau is designed to stand at a distance and pummel
    targets with its weapons.
    
    The Imperator Autocannon and dual Holly-5s, each with large stores of ammunition, can keep
    hitting a target from afar. If said target closes in, the Matarau has enough speed (slower
    than many VTOLs as it is) to move back to its safe striking range.
    
    Given its low armor, the Matarau really has to keep targets at a distance. ACDF commanders
    often use the Matarau to whittle down bigger, slower targets from range, especially Assault
    mechs and vehicles that don't have a lot of long-range weapons but can devastate anything up
    close.

Deployment:
    Zaraw's still limited manufacturing capability at their Mechdur plant sees much of the
    Mataraus produced go to the ACDF, where it's mostly sent to the Front CABs and the Cormorant
    Guard. The Wild Hunt purchased a good number for their own CABs.

Variants:
    There are two variants of [Name] that, int he late 3020s, make use of equipment from the
    Artru Castle Nautilus cache.
    
    The first removes a ton of LR ammo to upgrade the AC/5 into an Ultra version. The three tons
    of AC ammo allows for FIVE full minutes of continues double tapping, assuming the Ultra AC/5
    doesn't jam. Several [Name] serving with the Front CABs have are these variants.
    
    The second rarer variant is why [Name] has so little armor: all of the weapons are removed
    to mount a Gauss Rifle and 2 tons of ammo. Yes, this is the Yellow Jacket before the Clan
    Invasion. Carlios Dan Cannar wanted an inexpensive platform to mount Gauss Rifles on. These
    "Magna" variants are often seen with the Cormorant Guard.
