Overview:
    The ravages of the succession wars have often necessitated field modifications in order to
    restore damaged units back to combat worthiness.
    
    The Shadow Hawk 2H-7 is one of those modifications, rebuilt using simple and reliable
    equipment. Whilst not an official production variant, the design was successful enough that
    several lower tech mercenary units have since adopted the design into their own commands.

Capabilities:
    The armour allocation and engine rating of the base Shadow Hawk 2H remains unchanged. Heat
    sinks likewise remain at 12, although the one non-engine mounted sink has been moved into
    the centre torso.
    
    Two additional jump jets have been added to the design, in the left and right torsos,
    bringing the mechs' maximum jump distance up to 150 meters/ This matches the other two
    common 55 ton designs, the Griffin and Wolverine.
    
    The most significant change is in the armament. Gone is the standard AC5, replaced with a
    Large Laser, removing the main weapon's reliance on ammunition and extending the time the
    shadow hawk can remain in the fight.
    
    Further changes involve replacing the missile launchers. The head mounted SRM 2 has been
    dropped and the torso LRM 5 moved into its place, fed by a single ton of ammunition mounted
    in the left torso. Using weight saved from replacing the autocannon, techs have installed an
    SRM 6 launcher into the right Torso where the LRM 5 was previously located. Again, this
    launcher is fed by a single ton of ammunition.
    
    Finally, mimicking the Shadow Hawk-2D variant, a second medium laser has been added to the
    left arm.
    
    At a slight cost in effective range, the mech's overall firepower has been moderately
    increased. The additional jump distance and the increased damage output of the SRM 6 has
    often caught inattentive opponents off guard, something 2H-7 pilots are trained to
    capitalize on.
    Bracket firing is the order of the day, with the Large laser and LRM being used to soften up
    enemy targets before closing in for short range kills with the lasers and SRMs.
    
    Overall the 2H-7 performs reliably as a trooper mech, earning much praise from the mercenary
    units known to field it.

Deployment:
    As of 3025, there have been examples of this mech found in at least a dozen smaller
    mercenary sized commands, most of them range from a single lance up to a combined arms
    company in size.
    
    To date no known house unit has fielded the design, as their far greater access to
    replacement parts has thus far not necessitated the need for this field modification.
