Overview:
The Guerrilla was envisioned as a less costly competitor to the Griffin, using new
technologies to ensure an edge in long range duels. Using a radical new approach to engine
configuration, the design was intended to offer a much smaller silhouette when engaged from
the front, as well as superior long range firepower using the latest new weapons
technologies recovered from the Helm core.

The design ran into trouble when the advanced weaponry overtaxed the cooling system and the
new engine arrangement repeatedly caused unintended shutdowns.

A more conventional variant was finally offered for inspection, but was only selected for
limited production. By the time the clan invasion began, new technological breakthroughs
eventually saw this design reborn in the form of the Bushwacker.

Capabilities:
Initially intended to offer superior long range firepower by combining a light autocannon,
LRM launchers and a prototype Extended Range laser, the heat burden of this arsenal proved
to high and the prototype laser was reluctantly replaced with a standard production model.

While this change left the model's long range firepower short of the desired levels, it
still performed well at medium ranges.

The LRM launchers were kept small to allow for ammunition conservation and better heat
management, while the autocannon proved cooler and more reliable than a PPC would have, with
the ammunition bins still being deep enough for longer engagements.

For armor, the Guerrilla carries a respectable 9 tons, focusing protection on the vital
front torso and leg areas. While this leaves the arms as a weak spot and the weapons in them
at risk of damage, it ensures the Guerrilla will be able to use its respectable ground speed
to escape even after taking heavy fire.

The lack of jump jets was criticised by some, the designers were simply not able to balance
the new engine to allow for safe airborne stability.

Deployment:
The Guerrilla only saw limited production before the line was cancelled to free up
facilities for the production of upgraded designs in the 3050s.

All Guerrillas were lost during the early clan invasion. While the design proved more
effective than most medium mechs at engaging clan machines at long range, the technology gap
    proved too great to overcome.

Variants:
The GRL-0P-MB uses the original Prototype ER-Large Laser (P) in place of the regular large
laser. All such models were ordered to be retrofitted when it was shown that the ER-laser
alone could critically overtax the heating system.

The GRL-0X2-MB switches the autocannon for a 2 class model, combines the LRM launchers into
a single arm mounted LRM10 and adds a heatsink to the left torso.

Plans were drafted for the GRL-0X10-MB, which was to mount a class 10 autocannon instead of
the class 5, but drops the armor protection down to almost half.

A proposal for a theoretical GRL-1P-MB to be equipped with prototype double heat sinks and
an ER laser was made, but rejected to limited availability of the new heat sinks.
