Overview:
The story of MUSE WHITE's lightest member is one filled with irony—The Hussar was by then
largely considered a Lyran machine and its use during the Federated Commonwealth Civil War
had largely blackened the design in the eyes of the AFFS. General Motors, however,
discovered both legal documents dating to the period granting them a manufacturing license
for the light mech and a large quantity of tooling already in existence, having been
warehoused on New Avalon just prior to the conflict's outbreak and promptly forgotten about
in the chaos. As a result, the Hussar would be added to MUSE WHITE as the lightest machine
in the program - and among the more expensive.
Hoping to overcome the design's poor ouder with the AFFS by wowing with the very best
technology available, the HSR-9000 was given the same basic systems as all MUSE WHITE
designs, the majority of which General Motors already possessed license and capacity to
manufacture—and shared with the full spread of other designs released by the program. This
would be one of the few MUSE WHITE production lines to remain following the program's
failure, retooled in 3098 to produce the HSR-9001, which stripped many of its most advanced
(and therefore expensive) systems in favor of a more conventional, and more heavily armed,
configuration. By 3124 the design was officially extinct, with no examples known to have
survived to the modern day.

Weapons & Equipment
The HSR-9000 is, like its predecessor design, armed with only a single weapon in a flexible
backpack turret mount—unlike the original, this is a Johnston Parti-Kill snub-nosed
particle cannon rather than a laser, allowing the design to better leverage its speed as a
mid-range harasser and flanker. The rest of the machine, however, has undergone nearly
complete redesign—a 240 rated Extra Extra Light engine fitted with a Supercharger allows
the machine to reach speeds even faster than the original when its triple-strength myomers
are engaged, and the Hollis Mark II reinforced frame holds seven tons of Kallon Royalstar
standard armor plating - offering far better protection than the original.
The cockpit assembly has been completely redesigned to accommodate both a “back seat”
and C³ slave unit without impacting usability, while an Angel ECM system in the right torso
provides protection against jamming and various useful electronics warfare abilities. Ten
double heat sinks provide plenty of cooling for the machine—and in practice, are typically
managed at partial capacity by the unit's “back seat” to maintain the temperature
required by the -9000’s advanced myomers.
While the Dalban Micronics communication suite does not possess the same power as the
original Randar systems fitted to the classical Hussar design, the HSR-9000 retains the
original ruggedness of design in spite of the bleeding edge (for the day) technology
involved in its construction.
The HSR-9000 possesses the Directional Torso Mount (CT), Rugged I, Easy to Pilot, and
Extinct (3124) Design Quirks.
