Overview:
    Originally designed for the Star League Defense Force as Hollis Incorporated's first foray
    into the BattleMech field, the Catapult would prove a highly successful design over the next
    several centuries, even after the original manufacturing plant on Corey was destroyed during
    the First Succession War. At the turn of the millennium, however, Hollis was able to return
    the design to production on a limited basis after approximately three decades of only being
    able to manufacture limited spare parts, reversing the design's extinction fully, though by
    that point several variants of the basic design were in at least limited bespoke production
    across the entire Inner Sphere, and the original design would be superseded by advanced
    variants produced with recovered "LosTech" only a few decades later.
    
    This version of the Catapult was produced for the ComGuard, initially in secret but later
    openly. While the design did not "officially" enter production until 3062, historical
    analysis and later examination of BattleRom footage and wreakage suggest that the design may
    have existed as early as the 3020s, casting some doubt on the origin of certain
    technologies. Regardless, the design is relatively straightforward, with twelve tubes of
    variable launchers in each arm replacing the original LRM launchers, two of the medium
    lasers moved from the center to side torsos in order to fit an Improved C3 Computer, and one
    additional heat sink, along with a set of wide-spectrum recon cameras fitted to the head. In
    order to free the necessary weight, the Jump Jets are removed, making this version of the
    Catapult the only known variant to lack the capacity.
    
    It is believed that this design may have been mistaken for or deliberately disguised as the
    -4B "Butterbee" variant prior to its "official" introduction date, explaining a number of
    "phantom" LRM launchers in engagements now known to have been perpetrated by ComStar.
