Overview:
    Originally designed for the Star League Defense Force as Hollis Incorporated's first foray
    into the BattleMech field, the Catapult would prove a highly successful design over the next
    several centuries, even after the original manufacturing plant on Corey was destroyed during
    the First Succession War. At the turn of the millennium, however, Hollis was able to return
    the design to production on a limited basis after approximately three decades of only being
    able to manufacture limited spare parts, reversing the design's extinction fully, though by
    that point several variants of the basic design were in at least limited bespoke production
    across the entire Inner Sphere, and the original design would be superseded by advanced
    variants produced with recovered "LosTech" only a few decades later.
    
    The -4K variant is the design favored by the Draconis Combine, removing the Catapult's
    standard missile assemblies in favor of a pair of particle cannons as well as adding two
    additional heat sinks and a dedicated coolant routing computer which increases the system's
    efficiency. While originally produced as a refit as early as 2789, Luthian Armor Works would
    begin producing entirely unlicensed copies at their historic plant on New Samarkand in 2984,
    eventually making the mech a common sight in DCMS units.
