Compared to the -9B it has serious anti infantry capability now but the price is paid in armor plates. 8,5 tons of armor is far less than acceptable for an assault, especially for a brawler. Don“t use this if you expect to get returnfire. |

The least armored variant of the 3025 Victors. The short range firepower is scary, but the armor is insufficient, which means that the VTR-9A Victor will be shot to pieces before it gets to range unless it has some kind of cover like forests, smoke or a huge collection of buildings. The mobility is excellent for it's size, so it can reach the target quickly, but the problem begins when the enemy returns fire. Anything more powerful than medium lasers will quickly burn through armor and start causing trouble inside. The decision to include both flamers and MGs is the cause for all the trouble in my opinion, because the 'Mech drops too much armor to do it. This 'Mech has a potential, but I would modify it as soon as possible to keep it survivable. |

As it stands any part of the mech's armor won't last a single hit from an AC20. A bad idea for an assault mech.
Those extra guns don't do much and arent worth the loss of armor, plus now you gain another ton of ammo to explode.
This is bad. |

As a riot control mech it rocks... As an assault mech its very poor. Its barely got enough armour to beat a Panther and its lack of a ranged weapon means its going to be meat.
The 9A Victor will lose against a DCMS stock 3025 Panther which is an embarrasment to House Davion. |

Poor armor and a bad weapons layout make this a weak choice. The weapons could be better balanced, and have more armor and heat sinks. Forget the flamers and MG, downgrade the AC 20 to and AC 10 while adding armor, and a heat sink. The mech gains perfect heat dissipation, and is able to hit at longer ranges. |
