Overview:
    The QSP-4A Queen Spider represents the pinnacle of quadrupedal BattleMech engineering by the
    first Star League. Taking into account lessons learned from the previous three quadrupedal
    chassis, namely the Scorpion, Xanthos, and Goliath, engineers of the Terran Hegemony started
    work on a fourth quadrupedal design codenamed “Monarch” in 2683.
    
    They considered the best approach to be a 100-ton assault ‘Mech inspired by the Xanthos,
    providing enough weight for a considerable weapons loadout that would benefit the most from
    the stability of the weapons platform, in contrast to the meager firepower of the Scorpion
    or Goliath. Research to fix the rough movement problems of quadrupedal BattleMechs
    eventually led to the creation of special leg actuators and limb designs that allowed a quad
    ‘Mech’s torso to glide almost perfectly smooth across the battlefield.
    
    Inspired by diverse insectoid and arachnid animal species, numerous extra myomer bundles in
    the legs compensate for shaky movement with over 10.000 delicate adjustments per second. The
    insights about myomer technology gained during project “Monarch” would later be used by
    Cosara Weaponries to design the famous King Crab.
