Okay, weird combination of other Awesome variants. It reminds me of an altered Striker than an Awesome though. Weaponry isn't bad, and at least the heatsink number is close to what it can generate. But even still, I think the design would be better off returning to a matched trio of weapons. If you really like this sampler platter of a 'Mech, then I recommend switching out the LRM-15 for an LRM-20, taking the necessary tonnage out of the heatsinks. At least you have the PPC and LRM-20 then, and a good LLAS for up close.
If you like this machine though, go find the Striker. Similar weapons, worse heat curve, higher speed. If you want 80 tons of support fire, just get an AWS-8Q. |

Not the best out of Awesome series, but the armament is well rounded, armor heavy and ammo load sufficient. This 'Mech belongs to the better half of IS assaults around 3025. The ammo load on this variant may actually be the worst problem, because it's located in CT, which is the only location that can be damaged by lucky hit (unless you use floating crits rules). The 8T and 8R Awesomes spent their ammo faster, but the 8V can't rely on this. The 'Mech also has too many heat sinks, but it could be worse. |

Compared to the -8T it has no problems with low ammo any more but some firepower less and some heatsinks too much.
With two heatsinks less and a second PPC instead of the large laser this Awesome would have only minor heatbuiltup while having nearly the firepower of the -8Q! |

Its weapon mix is betterwhen compared to the 8R and 8T but its oversinked.
Now if u absolutely want to fire all of its 3 big guns together when running, 25 heatsinks is just sufficient.
The extra 3 tons can be then be used for something nice like a bank of lasers for backup. |

Not exactly what I'd expect from an Awesome; it's carrying too many heat sinks for one thing. It could definitely get by with twenty four, which could be converted into a nice point defense bank of medium lasers. |
