After a first look at the weaponloadout i thought :"Oh, a fierce fighter that can dish out tremendous amounts of damage at all ranges." Then i saw the armor : "Oh....??.....ähm.....A bit light! And only 15 points on its sides. And it has a XL." So better stay away supporting from behind the front and not wading into the battle. But it has too many heatsinks so it wouldn´t be difficult to solve this problem. |

Blackhand has it right, the pulse lasers are NOT meant to be used as an offensive weapon system. They work as a deterrent against light 'Mechs and vehicles and since the 'Mech is meant to be fielded against the clans, they are also meant to kill the Toads. Don't try to use this as a line 'Mech, it's a sniper and it shouldn't try to get too close (the armour will probably discourage such behaviour anyway). I must agree that all those DHSs weren't necessary though, because the 'Mech can survive an engine hit or two without losing main guns and additional armour would greatly increase the survivability of this machine. |

This mech has somewhat excessive DHS. I recommend throwing away some for more armor because i rather run hotter than have an AC20 ripping through the RT with 1 shot and exploding my Gauss rifle.

One of my favorite seventy ton rides. I love it, ER PPC + Gauss for long range. Unload it all at shorter ranges. Nice protection from rear attackers, and its only weakness is its somewhat weak armor. |

An example of a design which does not really need an XL engine but has one anyway. When you consider that the side torsos only have fifteen points of armor you can see how vulnerable this makes the 'mech.
Get rid of the pulse lasers and put in standard MLs, and you've already taken care of half the weight deficit.
Next, strip four DHS. Sure, it'll run a bit hotter, but think of the increase in the toughness of the 'mech.
Last but not least, upgrade to ferro-fibrous armor and shield those side torsos better. |
