Overview:
    The HDS-1R was the second Hardshot variant to be made for the SLDF Royals, and was generally
    considered superior to the 1B thanks to the advanced main weapon it toted. However, the
    Amaris Civil War would see all production facilities for the 1R destroyed except one, and
    several of its components  would become LosTech in the ensuing Succession Wars.
    
    ComStar would secretly save the blueprints for the design and would have them be
    clandestinely produced for ComGuard in the Jefferson Orbital Complex that had survived the
    fall of the Star League. The rest of the Inner Sphere would only know of this come the Clan
    Invasion, where it was unveiled in order to fight on Tukayyid. It would then go on to be
    used by both the Word of Blake and the Republic of the Sphere.

Capabilities:
    A SLDF Model 22-99-c Gauss Rifle is the main gun of the Hardshot 1R, providing nearly
    unmatched damage potential. A GM Whirlwind-L AC/2 is coaxially mounted for picking off
    smaller targets, and two fixed-mount Diverse Optics Medium Lasers attack any enemies
    approaching head-on. Finally, the Scatter Gun Light MG is carried over - controversially
    with all four of its ammo drums included.
    
    The Gauss Rifle and AC/2 both have 2 tons of ammunition, while the Machine Gun has 4 tons of
    ammunition like the 1C. All volatile ammunition, as well as the Gauss Rifle, are protected
    by CASE.

Deployment:
    The HDS-1R was chosen by ComStar to serve as a Clanbuster in the Battle of Tukkayid.
