As with most 3050 upgrades this one has a lot unused potential. An UAC/5 as a mainweapon isn´t such a good idea: It´s heavy, has that dangerous tendency to jam at the wrong moment (what moment would be right for a jamming AC?) and goes through this 20 shots really fast (if it doesn´t jam). Also this 3 heatsinks can be used in a better way if you switch to DHS´s. MASC is a second item that carries the risk of shutdown so in a prolonged battle you can be sure to get some problems the one or the other way. |

ammoe the 5M Shadowhawk this lacks the ability to hammer anything for any length of time. Sure that the MASC can give it an additional speed but that is hardly an improvement for a brawler if your weapons can do some significant damage only while you are under 6 hexes away and hitting with an alpha-strike. With MASC added to the JJs it looks like an attempt to turn this into a medium backbiter, but moving makes your guns inaccurate and if you get in the middle of an enemy formation the glass jaw comes to play. It's something between striker and brawler, not entirely bad, but there are too many opportunities that allow it to be lost to one bad roll and the ammo fades away quickly. |

I'm rather dissapointed with this so called upgrade. I actually prefer the 3025 WVR to this one. Blackhand hit it quite well in his review, the AC is too heavy, hogs too much ammo, and leaves you with too little too late in the way of backup weapons. |

Unlike Darkadder, this mech screams something else at me. Look at me the easily killed, lack of spare ammo mech which moves pretty fast for its weight.
I mean seriously once 10 or 11 rounds go by your UAC is outta ammo. At which point the opposing mech mugs you at range till you get bored and try to close. Before realising that a single Medium pulse and an SRM 6 will be out classed by just about every medium in existance.
In short, something I'd not want on my To&E |

A fairly overlooked design, this mech is great at close range fights. A good speed, Masc, jump jets, and a dangerous mix of close ranged weapons, this mech just screams 'city fighter'. |
