Overview:
    A variant of the venerable Dervish, this field kit modification turns the mech into a city
    fighter. The change of LRM10s and SRM2s for a quad mounting of SRM6s can be carried out as a
    general maintenance refit. Should a commander find they don't need the mech to fight in that
    role, switching back is even easier.
    Because of concerns about the conventions of war, this modification is often listed as a
    Demolitions Specialist, rather than an urban combat mech design.

Capabilities:
    The Dervish 6M-A works well in partnership with a second mech armed with a large bore
    autocannon, or with some large lasers. A lance with a Hunchback, Enforcer, or even an Urban
    Mech finds the massive volley of short range missiles a good follow-up once they have
    punched a hole in the enemy's armor.
    
    However, the mech is not specifically designed for such a role, and its fairly weak armor
    makes the modification unpopular among mechwarriors assigned to use it.
    
    The lack of any long range weapons also makes it a liability in any role outside that of
    ambush and urban combat.

Deployment:
    This kit is often used by Davion forces. However, a shipment of field modification kits were
    captured by the Draconis Combine in 3024 and put to use in converting some of their
    Dervishes for an upcoming anti-partisan offensive expected to feature heavy city based
    combat.

Variants:
    As this kit is a variant, it is unusual to see further modifications.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Rodney O'Leary was a low ranking DCMS mech pilot who was sent to a punishment battalion for
    insubordination. He resented his role in an "anti-terrorist" combat patrol, tasked with
    leveling buildings suspected of harboring anti-combine sympathizers in a newly captured
    garrison.
    
    Seeing a chance for a new life, Rodney defected to a group of periphery pirates who were
    raiding the planet. He took his refitted Dervish with him and now takes part in raids
    against his former employer.
