As a cityfighter it will wreak havoc with its pulse lasers, and standard engine and CASE will make it hard to take down. A good transfer of the old Star League machine into modern times. |

This one is a good upgrade. It took the specialisation even further by upgrading to pulse weapons, but it lost the crit seeker. I personally wouldn't mind if the useless sSRM was dropped in favour of three MGs (or two SPLs... flamers probably wouldn't get you high marks with local populace) and some additional armor. Just don't rush at everything blindly, this isn't Hunchback. There is a small flaw that I didn't mention in the other WVE reviews, but on 9N it's getting worse. All lasers are located in one arm which makes the 'Mech vulnerable. Without the arm you are left with the average LRM / weak SRM combo and that isn't much to play with. |

Now this mech will take your city and own it. Its pulses let it take out targets accurately while you jump around trying to take advantage of others and mug them in cities.
My biggest complaint against this mech is if I'm at range, I lack the firepower to survive. However, when I use it right in the city it never is an issue.
I'd also be a bit happier with a machine gun or two since cities breed infantry like roaches but you can't have everything. Pulses do in a pinch. |

Kinda what I was saying in the review of the 5N, this baby will kick some names and take some a$$. In it's chosen environment this will easilly take out almost anything comparable in weight, and a good number of heavier designs. |

Now heres a variant that will kick all ass in a city fight. The pulse lasers are purely in close weapons, as is the Streak launcher. Up close, this mech can carve up ligher weight mechs without too much problem. The LRMs are best for self defense in a ranged fight, just dont try to outgun an Archer with them. Keep an eye on your heat, too, as alpha strikes will make this mech get just a bit warm under the collar. |
