Overview:
    The Sledgehammer was designed by Kali Yama Weapons Industries Incorporated as a "delivery
    system" for the new Heavy Gauss Rifles sold to them by Blackwell. Kali-Yama hoped it had
    finally created a design to supplant the old Hunchback, but this was not to be.
    
    Despite a chassis and Gyro custom-made to house the HGR, the Sledgehammer had chronic
    stability issues that Kali-Yama was never able to cure. Additionally, the ambitious magnetic
    feed system for the HGR had a tendency to jam at inopportune times. After a series of
    limited production runs, Kali Yama would abandon the design in favor of the Mech that would
    become the Quasimodo.
    
    In order to recoup the costs of the Sledgehammers extensive development, the design was sold
    to Irian Battlemechs Unlimited. Irian would redesign the chassis and feed system to include
    non-magnetic ferrous composites, reducing the recoil from the HGR. Additionally, the feed
    system was replaced with a slower mechanical system, curing the design of its most severe
    issues.

Capabilities:
    Carrying a Heavy Gauss Rifle with 8 rounds of fire at speeds up to 85km/h, The Sledgehammer
    is ideal for short-range ambushes. Its battery of 10 small lasers allows it to deal even
    greater damage and crit-seek at point-blank range.
    
    It is however, unstable, and the recoil of the HGR and incoming attacks stand a good chance
    of knocking the Sledgehammer over. To compensate for the recoil, IBMU introduced Actuator
    Enhancement Systems into the Sledgehammer's legs. While this did not completely remove the
    recoil issue, and took up tonnage normally reserved for a battery of Lasers, this system did
    an excellent job of keeping the Sledgehammer upright in combat.
