Very strange. Near-useless in the open, but relatively light firepower for a close-combat specialist. It doesn't jump and it's speed can be matched by anything this could reasonably hope to overpower. The lack of a targeting computer really limits the usefulness of the heavies. The standard engine makes it tough, but it doesn't have the punch to take advantage of it.
I'd give this even odds against a Loki Prime in close quarters. At range, the Loki would smoke this- and so would anything else. |

Best variant I've seen for the Crossbow. Needs some work, but since its a pod setup thats easy enough to fix.
I always question the need for Machine guns on most of the Crossbow OMNIs, but the LMG is a nice range and unlimited ammo and no heat which is useful on the Heavy laser machine.
The LRM 15 worries me as its your core weapon and its only having two tons of ammo. |

Okay, heres how you fix this mod. Pull the LMGs and ammo, drop in another heavy medium laser and a half ton of ammo for the LRM. The heavy mediums have a better range and do more damage than the LMGs, so dont cry about loosing them. THe LRMs are going to want lots of ammo, as theyre the only ranged weapon on this thing. Keep them well fed. If youre that worried about someone getting too close, upgrade to FF armor, or drop in a faster XL engine for the same weight. This mech then will either be fast enough to get out of harms way, or can take a bit more abuse while it makes the kill. |
