Overview:
    Looking to extract more value from the nearly disastrous Malassay, the Janissary was Hosono
    MFG's attempt to provide a light, direct fire support mech. Starting with the same chassis,
    the leg assemblies were reworked to provide a more stable firing platform and the arms were
    enlarged. The original concept called for dual PPC's, an armament normally found exclusively
    on heavy mechs, although this proved unworkable when the heat spike from firing caused the
    cooling system to explode on the prototype. Downgrading to large lasers and reinforcing the
    cooling system fixed this although the mech would still be plagued with a high heat curve in
    combat. Once again, the mech was licenced to a large number of local manufacturers where it
    found moderate success as a planetary garrison unit, it's low cost and local parts
    availability making up for it's middling speed and armour. This would also save it from the
    worst of the fighting during the succession wars and ensure that the mech would continue to
    be seen across the inner sphere.
