I have to agree with jymset here. In 3025 5/8/4 isn“t that bad (ok: its also not good) but in enclosed spaces its enough to wreak havoc with all that lasers. Other lights and even some mediums will have big problems with that little bug. The firefly has some serious armor-protection and i like this LRM-5. In every game i like plinking away with such a weapon to annoy my enemy! :-)

The 'Mech isn't fast, but for old tech it isn't that bad. With heavy armor and LRMs it can annoy the enemy lights for a while and then switch to medium lasers. The small lasers are strange, but they may help a little when you don't care about the heat. The problem is that this 'Mech overheats so you usually can't afford that. To sum it there are nice weapons, heavy armor, below average speed (with JJs, nothing extra, but they are included) and two tons of ballast. Not the best and the most efficient machine, but it can do. There is a potential for improvement however...
If you drop some armor and SLs you can push this to 6/9/6, which would be much more interesting, but Jenner-like. The second idea is to replace SLs with three MGs and ammo, it would be an infantry murderer ant it would help with heat.

This is the Hornet's bigger sibling. It is a 3025-era 'mech, people!
With heavy armour and extremely heavy weaponry for its size, it is quite a terror for other lights. Its speed bracket is adequate, its jump jets will probably be more useful in making a getaway from short ranges after overheating due to repeated alpha-strikes.
3025 offers by far the best use for LRM5s (discounting munchy mini-maxing in getting a poor man's LRM20 out of four LRM5s which weigh only 8 tons....) - as long range firepower for light 'mechs. As such (and similar to its smaller sibling), this launcher is very well suited to a 30-tonner.
Compare this design to the Valkyrie: at the expense of a jj, it gains .5 tons of armour. It mounts a smaller launcher, but unlike the other design, it doesn't rely on that weapon. It is a close-range fiend!
And why did I give this one 4.5 stars as opposed to the 4 stars of the Hornet (which is arguably even more efficient in its weight class)? The Firefly looks so very, very cool!

Useful only if you like trading pilots off for kills. Its too slow to really function in anything but a cityfight, and small lasers guarenty that someone will paste this mech before it finishes its job.
The LRM 5 is also slightly confusing as this appears to be a knife fighter for city missions and that minimum 7 is going to hurt. So pull it for max jump and more heat sinks.

Very slow. Good armor, but such poor speed that it isnt worth it. Nice weapons load, but the heat sinks arent up to the task, so you better either use the LRM ammo up or dump it. Also, the jump should be maxed.
