Makes me want to field more of these designs.
I still flinch seeing the XL but its a clan design. So its mildly managable.
The lack of any serious ammo makes it a brilliant campaign mech as it has thick (for the clans) armour on an OMNI.
Jump around and gun things down. Remember to depend on your ER models, and use the Heavies when the numbers are good. |

Very nice! This Dragonfly really ought to be able to pump out the damage. Those heavy lasers are like little PPCs in terms of damage, although they'll crank up the heat as well. This 'mech could do without the small pulse lasers though. I'd strip them for some heat sinks. |

This mod might actually be able to do something. Usually the Dragonflies are fairly ineffective, but this one actually seems to have toms potential.
The all laser configuration means that the mech can perform extended action away from supply lines, and makes for a perfect guerilla fighter.
The speed remains the same, nice and fast, and will offer some protection that way. The jump ability means that the mech will be good for urban combat, jumping over buildings for instant cover from enemy fire.
The lasers can build up quite a bit of heat, though, so a little fire discipline is a good thing to use. If you get a juicy shot, however, dont be afraid to alpha strike.
THe armor seems a little thin for its weight, however, so pulling one of the small lasers for more armor wouldnt be a bad move. |
