I just don't like this Chassis. I never have and I never will. Too little pod space, too much speed, and dies too easily. No thanks. The primary config is OK when used as a dedicated sniper. Which is can do because of speed. Otherwise, its dead meat. |

If you like style points, this is the mech to go for. It is great for hunting down heavies and mediums but not stand toe to toe against assault. In 3050 era it was sufficient. Capable of overrunning the enemy and breaching the line was something it did very well.
Anything else later than 3050 especially with all those assault Gauss boats will send this guy to the scrap heap. |

I've never been a fan of the Gladiator. It always struck me as sort of a wannabe Battlemaster. But realistically the main thing I don't like about it is lowers itself to Inner Sphere level firepower in order be able to move 4/6/4. I personally don't consider the trade-off worth it; if I wanted a 4/6/4 mech I'd use the much better Thor. An Inner Sphere assault mech can go toe-to-toe with this and face even odds, that doesn't make this a particular good choice. |

At first glance I didn't even think this qualified as an assault mech. mechs 20 tons lighter have more fire power. However when I used it in my last campaign i couldn't believe how well i did. this mech moves fast, hardly ever overheats and sports 3 weapons that do good damage and have good range. i would take this over all assaults except a Masakari C. |

This is a weak design. It sacrifices too much to move quickly. The same weapons loadout could be mounted on a Summoner with few heat problems- and it would move faster. The combination of jump jets and the very dangerous MASC is wasteful- this mech spends 12 tons upgrading its mobility in two different ways, and still ends up slower than the Summoner. The firepower is average for a heavy and it's speed only looks fast compared to other assault mechs. A Timber Wolf can mount jump jets, has almost as much armor, move faster, and will still have more pod space than this thing.
Any Clan assualt looks good against the Inner Sphere. This is a dangerous design, but less than what I want in a front-line Clan assault omni. |
