A decent support 'Mech, but not really that stellar. I must agree that it will run dry pretty soon, but Summoner is also prone to jumping which means a lot of wasted shots or maneuvering while not really doing much. The heat sinks could also bear more use. Better than A, but not stellar. |

I've successfully used this Summoner more than once. If you tag your opponent with the Narc you rarely miss with your missiles. Also since they are Clan LRMs they can be fired from in close, allowing the pilot to still rumble. Also if the clan ROE are broken the Narc beacon opens a serious can of whoop @$$ for any other Narc LRM equipped unit on its side. |

This thing carries 8 tons of ammo and it's still not enough. The NARC just doesn't lend itself to the Clan style of combat, and pure missile armament lacks a knockout punch and fails to use the Thor's heat sinks effectively. It's firepower isn't particularly impressive, and any mech mounting ECM or an AMS (say, Loki Prime) would walk right through a barage or two with minimal damage.
Against Clan opponents, the firepower is weak; against the Inner Sphere the ammo supply is too limited. |

This mech is ***** until it runs out of ammo completely and shuts down because now its a gigantic useless hunk of junk.
Basically it has to average out to average. Keep it as a defence unit because it needs the ammo.
Not really sure if its a sniper or an inclose mech. |

An improvement, but still limited.
The pairing of the LRM and SRMs with a Narc system is pretty good, despite the lack of appreciable range on the Narc. This missile boat has to close to SRM range to get a Narc lock. This could fail you in two ways. One: The target is quicker than the Summoner, meaning that its going to be all over you. Two: The target is bigger than the Summoner, and capable of crippling or killing this mech in one salvo.
Best use of this mech is to declare the LRMs NOT Narc-capable, and using this as a bombardment mech. Stand at range and rain missiles on your target. When someone strays too close, mark them with a Narc pod and let your SRMs do the talking.
I wouldnt reccomend galavanting too far from your ammo supply lines or dumps. This thing is fully capable of blowing through the ammo its got before your battle is finished, making this a 70-ton 'Kick Me' sign. |
