Sometimes even us Clan warriors get into situations where we face infantry. Yes, even before the invasion. I am Jade Falcon, remember? Yes, our most hated enemy is Clan Steel Viper. Enough said. However, it is one thing to be prepared for conventional troops; it is another to drop sanity while doing so. I once read on the chatterweb a treatise where it was said when a Mist Lynx A faced a Charger -1A1 in a Circle of Equals, they would succumb to rust before actually causing critical damage to one another. (Does anyone remember whose website that was on?) Of course, it does mount TAG next to its grand total of 2 MGs and 1 Flamer, giving it another purpose – but a dishonourable one. Truly, the Smoke Jaguars must have done a lot of bandit hunting in their days! The A-pods protect….what, exactly? And the dual AMS’ three tons of armour have become a liability far greater than any single ton of MG ammo under the new Total Warfare rules. This is horrible, horrible, horrible and doubly so with the advent of a brand new anti-infantry configuration (Configuration G in 3050U) – even though that one sucks, too! |

This machine is highly specialized. To deal with infantry it has MGs and flamer and for protection it uses A-pods, AMS and mobility. The problem is that while this 'Mech may be good to deal with militia, it doesn't have anything to deal with armor. Fortunately the configuration is equipped with TAG which may be used to deal with tougher enemy. As a 'Mech it doesn't look well, but as a configuration it can afford some problems with overspecialization. Be prepared to flee when you pilot this. |

Oddly enough, this seems to work best in an assault star, especially if you remove something to mount ECM. It guards against ambushes, infantry, and vehicles that the big guys can't be bothered with, and few enemies aim at it when there's a Warhawk in view. Of course, if an enemy mech finds it a little too annoying it won't last long. |

Personally I like this pod setup for the Koshi for one reason. Infantry rout in seconds against it, which is nice. And since its an OMNI you can just repod after you've squished the unarmoured PBIs.
Keep it to cities and it'll do well. Might even fight well against IS light mechs in single battle. Although if your serious about this load out to beat mechs trade the AP pods for ER Smalls. |

As a speciallized infantry hunter this is second to none in its weight class and era. The TAG serves its purpose in calling in LRM/Arrow IV strikes against enemy units, and while this isnt common for the clans (except for the Naga OmniMech) they would use this against bandits and other "honorless" combatants. |
