One of the quickest 'Mechs in clan arsenal, but the problem is in armor. Even IS medium laser hits will penetrate it in most locations. It can avoid damage for a while, but if there are pulse lasers and advanced targeting systems on board then this 'Mech should be running home to report the enemy to it's brethren. Avoid forests and other terrain which may slow you down, speed is your only protection.
Prime configuration can be dangerous to vehicles and wounded 'Mechs, because it can release huge cloud of missiles in one lightning pass around the enemy. Against more dangerous foes it can attempt to snipe with it's lasers, but what may work against IS can be a suicide against clan foe. If the rules of engagement are broken then it can hope to attack and finish off the enemy who has something better to do, than to try to hit a blur, but in a duel it has to rely on cover and speed. Fortunately clan 'Mechs tend to be lightly armored, so the lasers may create some holes.

Yes it's fast, yes it carries a lot of firepower for 20 tons, but . . .
Many Clan mechs can almost keep up with this AND have the firepower to kill it in one shot (Dragonfly, Fenris, etc.) With short-range weapons this mech has to close quickly to do anything, and has to close even more to deploy elementals. That wonderful movement modifier negates pretty quickly at two hexes away- and it only takes one good shot to wipe it out and leave your elementals stranded. Even a green IS pilot will get lucky eventually.
If the MASC fails, this mech is dead. If it takes a leg critical, it's dead. It it takes a weapon hit- of any type- it's hurting badly, if not dead. If it fails a piloting roll it's in trouble. It can't jump, so may often be less manuverable than the Dragonfly or other designs.
I love speed, and carrying elementals serves as armor to an extent, but this is far too expensive for it's lifespan.

Fast and fairly well equipped but yes youv'e all noticed, no bloody armour again. As said previously by a few others use it to get elementals in fast ansd then get the hell out using its superlative speed. But certainly not a mech v mech design thats for sure

When using maxtech modifiers, this little guy gets a max +5 to hit modifier which drastically increases his survivability when faced against enemy mechs with strong long range weapons. This allows the little fella to rampage around like an angry mugger.
Use this bugger to carry Elementals and other BA. It has the speed needed and enough firepower to screen the BA group through. Just pray that the enemy does not pay attention to you while you unload the SRMs for crit seeking.

The Clans seem to have a problem with heavy armour on light Mechs and the Fire Moth is the prime example off this. Incredible speed, heavy firepower and armour as thin as tissue paper.
Nearly any weapon hit will call for a critical check if not worse.
Keep movng at full speed and fire on the run. and pray no one decides to target you.
