The bad, it moves 4/6 but that means it will suffer in terms of payload.
The good, its probably the most sturdy Clan Omni of its era and probably the cheapest.
This is something any IS mecenary would love to have ! It does eat some ammo, but the laser batteries are more than sufficient.

This is more of an oversized heavy 'mech than a 'mech that can slug it out with front-line assault 'mechs. That engine just takes up too much space to be efficient. It moves more slowly than a Timber Wolf, carries about the same amount of firepower, and carries only slightly more armor. Why not just take the Timber Wolf? A slower clan front line 'mech, such as a Night Gyr or Nova Cat, carries more sheer firepower at the same speed. The one advantage it does have is the standard engine.

I am sorry to repeatedly rebut Dark Adder on various designs. BUT: While I agree with his judgement, that this is a good design, I cannot agree with his review.
Right, what is special about this 'mech. True, it does move at 4/6 speed, but so do the Warhawk (Masakari) and the Blood Asp. However, it does mount a standard engine; combined with maximum armour (bar 1 point....), this machine is truly one of the most resilient omnimechs ever!
This does leave the design with only 24 tons of pod space, but thanks to the integral 17 DHS, these tend to be used extremely effectively.
NOW: LPL in my book aren't short-ranged weapons. Not even medium-ranged weapons. With a range of 20 hexes, they are only 1 hex short of LRMS!! And are more accurate! So, with 2 LPL and an LRM10, this design has that range bracket covered. 2 MPL and one SSRM6 cover the short-medium range as accurately as possible. And for that final touch, while the ERSL is definitely no killer, you won't find a better bang for the buck anywhere (5! damage at 6 hexes for 2 heat and .5 tons). What would you prefer? A flamer?!

Looks impressive, but obviously wasnt built for ranged work. I think the LRMs on it were more of an afterthought than anything else. Still, its an LRM 10, so at leas its not totally worthless.
Once the mech closes to mid range, the pulse lasers are going to carve up your target fairly quick. But the small laser is useless, sorry.
The Streaks Im not sure about. I think those were tossed on so the mech can use them for a turn or two to dissipate the heat from the lasers.
THe speed on this omni is nice. I hate having stars full of 3/5 mechs.
As I brushed on before, the lasers might overwhelm the DHS if you alpha strike too many times in a row, staggering your fire may be the best way to go with this boy.
